Students and their sponsors Mrs. Lorraine Kuniak and Mrs. Dayna Orlowski along with their engineer mentor Mr. Jim Musolino competed at the regional level during Engineering Week in Pittsburgh. The team of students took a model of their city of the future named New Chicago and earned a number of awards. New Chicago is a revitalization of New Kensington, which used to be called "The Chicago of the East."  Each year students are presented with a particular technology to research and integrate into their city.  This year's topic was on modular housing.  The team used ink cartidges to build a rotating housing complex that generated its own power and held its own water supply. The students took two special awards and a second place award in the overall competition.  The presentation team is pictured with James B.
