Students at Mary Queen of Apostles School participate in a variety of clubs and activities. Some activities offer competitions for students. Each club or activity has a sponsor to help students in their competitions. Students gain experience and knowledge from these competitions and also learn more about teamwork. These activities and competitions are great for students to learn and grow. ​A full listing is below. If you have any questions, please contact our school office at 724‑339‑4411.

​​​Carson Scholars​

The Carson Scholars Award is recommended annually at Mary Queen of Apostles School to a student who is recognized for exemplary academic standing and service to others. A student applies for the award, and if accepted, is the recipient of a medal, certificate, and $1000 endowment toward college.

​​​National History Day

Students and their sponsors Mrs. Evelyn Quade and Mrs. Janet Casper participate in National History Day. Students have the option to enter a historical paper, documentary, a web site, an exhibit, or a performance.

​​Pittsburgh Regional Science and Engineering Fair

Students at Mary Queen of Apostles School and their sponsor, Mrs. Cheryl Kestner participate in PRSEF, Pittsburgh Regional Science and Engineering Fair.


Students at Mary Queen of Apostles School and their sponsor, Mrs. Cathy Collett participate in two robotics competitions. CMU hosts the annual First Lego League Competition. Students are judged on five areas: robotic design, software programming, robotic performance, research presentation, and teamwork.

​​Southwestern Pennsylvania Forensic League

Students at Mary Queen of Apostles and their sponsor, Mrs. Cathy Collett participate in the Southwestern Pennsylvania Forensic League tournaments. Three team tournaments are held though out the year. A Finals Tournament and All-Stars Tournament are the final tournaments for selected students.​

Westmoreland Interscholastic Reading

Students at Mary Queen of Apostles School and their sponsor, Mrs. Vicki Frantz participate​ in the Westmoreland Interscholastic Reading Competition. Seton Hill College hosts the annual event where teams of 10 students compete against each other to answer all types of questions about the books they have read over the course of the year.
