Make Me a Maker is a STEM program that invites a parent, grandparent, relative, or caregiver to learn with a preschool age child. The program centers on literacy, inquiry, movement, creative play, problem-solving, and direction-following. As groups move about the room to different nursery rhyme themed stations, the children and adults listen to a story for a fun learning experience!
Goals of the Make Me a Maker program include:
- Increasing parents’ knowledge of early childhood development
- Developing school-readiness in young children
- Promotion of positive interaction between caregivers and children
- Encouraging parents/grandparents/caregivers to serve as primary educators
- Fostering literacy as a life-long habit
