84th Annual Pittsburgh Regional Science & Engineering Fair
Logan Polito, Louisa Polumbo and Vanessa Ibrahim, eighth grade students from Mary Queen of Apostles School, presented their science research at the 84th Annual Pittsburgh Regional Science & Engineering Fair (PRSEF). PRSEF is open to students in middle and high school from the 21 counties within Western Pennsylvania and Garrett County, Maryland. Each year, approximately 1,000 students from more than 100 schools participate in the third oldest science fair in the United States.
Logan placed first with his Earth and Environment research entitled “Does Magnetism Affect Hatchability?”.
Louisa placed first with her chemistry research entitled “On the Flip Side. Students receiving first place will receive $150 each.
Vanessa Ibrahim placed second in the Medicine/ Health/ Microbiology category with her project entitled, “If You Can’t Beat Them, Should You Join Them?”. Vanessa will receive $75 for her research. She also received a $50 sponsor award from the Allegheny County Medical Society Foundation.
