These could be used for general information, research, building skills, and links to practice sites connected to our textbook series in mathematics, vocabulary, and social studies. Some connect to texts used at MQA. IXL, an online math and language arts program is individualized for our students and can be used at school, at home, and on the go!

Practice thousands of language arts and math skills at school, at home, and on the go! Access is provided through single sign on connected to the student’s account.
Discovery Education (Found within Schoology as a Single Sign On Product)
Discovery Education is an amazing site. This is a safe, child-friendly search engine and a site that can be used to find general information on any topic. It is a closed site that is funded by the Diocese of Greensburg through the Westmoreland Intermediate Unit. It is developed for students. It is connected through single sign on to the student’s account.
The materials that can be found on this site include images, full videos and clips, articles, encyclopedia articles, games, maps, simulations, activities, audio clips, and events. The list goes on and on! The site can be searched by subject, key word, and grade level. It is nice to have a list of things that are appropriate for the age of a child. It even provides the information needed to cite what is used for reports so that a bibliography or works cited page is easily completed.
Code.org, VEX, Ozoblockly, and Spike Prime
Code.org is a site that promotes coding as it applies to computer science. It is taught in K-8 at MQA but can easily be continued at home! VEX, Ozoblockly, and Lego Spike Prime are coding blocks for programming on these classroom sets.
Renaissance Learning (Found within Schoology as a Single Sign On Product)
This resource is for math and reading. It includes Accelerated Reader, myOn reading selections, myOn News selections, STAR reading and math assessments, phonics products for the primary building, and Freckle for math/reading. All these are accessed through the single sign on connected to the student’s school account.
Destiny Library Software
Use Follett Destiny to the library collections at the Freeport Road Site. Use Destiny Quest to make a list of books you would like to read or to track those you have checked out and read. Students in ore-k through third grade check out books from the school library weekly.

EPIC
Epic is a site that offers online books for students to use during school hours. It is not free outside the school day.
Brain Pop & Brain Pop Jr.
These sites provide animated videos and video quizzes as an educational resource that supports learning goals of our curriculum.
