Where can you meet former Presidents and First Ladies, colonists, patriots that shouted a warning and those who bravely fought for freedom, explorers, frontiersman, and early Native Americans in 2013? At the annual MQA Statuary Park Historical Museum, of course!
The fifth grade class recently presented the historical museum to their families and friends as well as the MQA students, faculty, and staff. This project is the culmination of year long projects in social studies and English. Each student researched a famous person from American history, wrote a detailed report, and composed a three to five minute speech about their life. They created a costume that fit the time period during which their historical figure lived. The figures "came to life" at the museum to share their stories. It was a great day to travel into history!
