Playing a musical instrument as part of an ensemble is a fun way to encourage our students to develop their artistic talents. Joining band means committing to all band concerts and tours.

Betelguese Science Club

6th

This sixth grade science club takes its name from one of two major stars in the constellation Orion, the hunter. The club members work as a team to solve problems and just have fun with science.

Being part of a choral group is a great way to encourage our students to develop their artistic talents and build performance skills. Joining chorus means committing to both the Christmas and spring concerts.

Forensics

Forensics is a public speaking club. Choose a reading from a novel, a selection of poetry, a famous speech or a play, and present it at a forensic tournament. Tournaments are held on three Saturdays during the year.

Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Spelling Bee is for students in grades 6-8. The Diocesan Spelling Bee is for students in grades 4-6. The school champion represents MQA at the bee.

Elected by your peers, you have a responsibility to attend meetings to represent your class.  You are also required to attend all Student Council functions.

Reading Club

Westmoreland Interscholastic Reading Club is a competition club. Students form a team, collectively read 40 novels and practice Q&A regarding the novels The club meets after school to read, practice, and prepare. Students also read at home.

The Yearbook Club encourages students to use their artistic talents, organizational skills, and writing ability to help Mrs. Kuniak create our school yearbook.
